Margherita Flatbread Pizza

This pizza is quick, easy, delicious and perfect for a warm summer evening. It can easily be served as an appetizer or the main course. It’s amazing how just a few, fresh ingredients can make something so tasty.

Servings: 2 people
  • 1 piece naan bread
  • 3 pieces fresh mozzarella cheese sliced to 1/2 inch thickness
  • 1 heirloom tomato (sliced thin) or cherry tomatoes (halved)
  • 5-6 leaves fresh basil
  • 1 tbsp minced garlic
  • 1.5 tbsp olive oil
  • 1.5 tbsp balsamic vinegar
  • salt and pepper to taste
  1. Preheat oven to 350°F

  2. Mix the garlic and oil together. Brush the naan bread with half of the mixture and then place in a pre-heated oven for five minutes.

  3. Chop the basil leaves.

  4. Remove the bread from the oven and then sprinkle with 1/4 of the basil leaves. Next top with three slices of mozzarella cheese, then the thinly sliced tomatoes. Sprinkle with salt and pepper to your liking.

  5. Place back in the oven for another five minutes. Then turn the broiler on and broil for 2-3 minutes. Watch it closely so it doesn't burn! Remove from oven.

  6. Mix the remaining oil and garlic with the balsamic vinegar. Drizzle the mixture over the bread and sprinkle with the rest of the basil eaves.
