- Fuel Up to Play 60 Celebrates with 49ers Quarterback Alex
Smith and Winning Students, Taylor Von Stetina and MaKena Pieretti
- Van Gorder Elementary School leads the state with the healthiest and
most active students participating in Fuel
Up To Play 60 and was awarded with a Proclamation by Sparks Mayor
Gino Martini declaring April 23rd, 2010 “Van Gorder Health
and Fitness Day.” Students Von Stetina and Pieretti won the
essay contest and were honored with a photo opportunity with Smith,
as well as the chance to read their essays at the assembly. The Northern
Nevada Dairymen and Fuel Up to Play 60 program honored Van Gorder Elementary
School with a visit from 49ers QB, Alex Smith as a reward for their
excellent commitment to health through their participation in the national
Fuel Up to Play 60 program. Alex Smith led the school assembly and participated
in a photo shoot with the two winning students who will appear in an
upcoming school growth poster.

to give students the tools to eat healthier and get active
- November 2009 - The Northern Nevada Dairymen recently supported the
Churchill High School production of “Annie.” The Dairymen
provided all the dairy products to make the desserts and served chocolate
milk and white milk with a dab of whipped cream in champagne glasses
at a “Milk Bar”.
